Our painting group was in for a surprise tonight. We were told to paint only with our non dominant hand. So this is a painting using my left hand only!
The lovely figure that dominates this collage was done by a friend of mine in Ohio. I thought it would be fun to incorporate her drawing in an "arty" piece of work.
Jayne and I have had so much fun this week collecting more "stuff" for our collage art. We have been busy tearing, stamping, gluing paper and laughing out loud!
Jayne and I took a wonderful workshop on collage art taught by Paula Van Huss. These are a few examples of what I did that day. We had so much fun tearing paper, stamping images, gluing, and playing with all kinds of paint and other "stuff"!
Prior to our visit to see the Celebrating Georgia Women Artists Show at the Marietta/Cobb Museum, (Karen won 1st place for pastels...congratulations) Jayne and I stopped for coffee at a wonderful Patisserie named Sugar Cakes. The pasteries were so gorgeous that we just had to photograph them for a future painting. Today, Jayne and I painted these delicious goodies and can't wait to return to sample more. See what Jayne ordered by visiting her blog at Jaynebpastels.blogspot.com
Jayne and I had a fun day today. We visited the museum where Karen's 1st place painting was on display then we spent the rest of the day painting. This is the first painting in the series of three bird nests that I painted today.
