LOW COUNTRY MARSH

12"x18" Pastel on Wallis Paper

As my friends and I sadly left Harbor Island to
return home, we pulled off the road by a fish camp
to take just a few more photos. This is a painting
of the marsh before we went across the bridge
to Beaufort, S.C.

VIEW OF THE TOCCOA RIVER

9"x12" Pastel on Wallis Paper

A Spring time workshop with Terry Ludwig
took us to Blue Ridge. We stayed in the
great A frame cabin right on the river. This

VIEW OF THE RIVER IN BLUE RIDGE, GA

9"x12" PASTEL on Wallis Paper

On a recent workshop with Terry Ludwig we
did some Plein Air painting along the river.
It was a cold, windy, rainy day with a million
gnats bothering us. This is the result of the
struggle against the elements!

COUNTRY ROAD

LAKE COMO, ITALY

This is one of the many places I visited while
on my trip to Italy. Lake Como is a beautiful and
very peaceful village in Northern Italy. A must to
to visit!

MISTY MORNING ON THE TALLULAH RIVER

9"x 12" Pastel on Wallis

The sun was struggling to shine through the
mist on this particular morning. The diffused
sunlight gave the river and rocks a lovely lavendar
cast.

THE GONDOLA RIDE, VENICE, ITALY

18"x24" Pastel on Canson

A trip to Venice is just not complete
until you take a gondola ride on the
Grande Canal. We had a group of
six gondolas with our own accordian
player and singer.

JACK IN THE PULPIT

18"x24" Pastel on Suede Mat board

Spring flowers are such a thing of beauty.
This particular wild flower caught my interest
with all of the shades of green and orange.

SERENITY IN BLUE

"If you see a tree that is blue, paint it blue."
Paul Gauguin

I thought I would take Gaugin up on his quote and painted this
landscape using mostly shades of blue. I found that the color blue gave the painting a beautifully serene feeling and by using a touch of warm colors in the foreground the painting took on a warmer feeling.
